Apple Computer Inc. (Nasdaq-NNM: AAP) officially opened its new Miami office as part of its continuing expansion in the Latin American market. The office, located in Coral Gables, Fla., was officially opened by Apple Latin America/Caribbean General Manager, Luis Rubio.
"The opening of this office highlights Apple Computer's commitment to Latin America," stated Rubio. "Our new headquarters in this strategic city ensures that all our customers and partners receive the unparalleled service and support that is a long-standing Apple tradition," he added.
Apple Latin America/Caribbean employs approximately 50 people and provides sales, marketing, distribution and training for its 19 resellers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Apple is also operating new warehousing facilities in Miami to enable customers to benefit from product resources that are closer to the marketplace. The expansion of Apple's presence in the region also includes the increased availability of its products, further development of local software solutions, and instructional seminars for a variety of customers. The company's award-winning products, which include Power Macintosh, Performa and PowerBook computers, are available in 44 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
